Base Game
Folsom Prison base game starts with a reel set-up featuring 5 reels and 4-6-6-6-4 rows. There are numerous locked positions which are opened by a cockroach or special symbols _ xWays and xSplit. The active area in the base game includes the first 4 reels and the two middle rows. The rest of the positions are locked but becomes active during bonus rounds.
Whenever you hit the scatter, wild, xWays, and xSplit symbols it opens the nearby closed positions, below and above respective reels. There are 2 wilds: a cockroach nest and a regular wild which can appear on all reels except reel 1 and substitute other basic symbols.

The Walk the Line Bonus lets the cockroach nest appear in the open positions of the 3 middle reels. They open the locked cells they touch. Wilds replace cockroaches from their starting positions adding random multipliers to symbols they come across.
In the bonus round a cockroach nest is inactive but when a cockroach walks on it upgrades its multipliers for a maximum of 3 times within 1, 2, 3 and 10 multiplier levels.
